
Cards Rebound with a 74-59 win over UAB

Jazz Covington and Missy Taylor combined for 42 points in the Cardinals' (10-5) 74-59 win over UAB (4-10) on Sunday afternoon in Bartow Arena. Taylor finished the game with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Covington finished with 22 points and seven rebounds. Domaneice Moore led the Blazers with 14 points.
UAB cut the Cardinals' lead to 43-40 with just over 12 minutes remaining in the game. Taylor then came down the court and nailed a three-pointer. A few minutes later the Cards went on a 15-6 run to go up 61-47 with just over four minutes remaining to put the Blazers away.
Louisville finished the game shooting 54 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from the three-point line. The Cardinals held UAB to just 35.7 percent from the field and just 26.7 percent from behind the three-point line. The Cardinals outrebounded UAB 39-30.
Louisville used a 6-0 run early in the first half to go up 16-6 at the 10 minute mark. The Blazers hung in there and the Cardinals finished the half with a 36-28 lead. The Cardinals finished the first half shooting 48.1 percent and 42.9 percent from behind the arc. UAB shot 40.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the arc. The Cardinals outrebounded the Blazers 21-13.
Louisville will be back in action at Cincinnati next Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2:00 p.m.
