
Covington Named Conference USA Player of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Freshman Jazz Covington was named Conference USA Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 29. Covington scored 19 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season and help the Cardinals to finish tied for second in the league standings with a 58-48 win over Cincinnati on the road.
Covington is the only freshman to register 10 double-doubles in the conference. She connected of 8-of-13 from the field and 3-of-4 from behind the line. She also finished the game with no turnovers, while adding one block and two steals in her 36 minutes played.
Covington leads the Cardinals on the boards with 8.0 rebounds per game and is second on the team in scoring with 16.3 points per game. She also leads the team connecting on 56.8 percent from the field.
