
Nord Named Co-Conference USA Player of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville's Sara Nord was named Co-Conference USA Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 9. The senior point guard has earned the honor three times this season. She led the Cardinals to an 83-70 win over UAB and an 86-71 win over South Florida in Freedom Hall. Nord finished the week averaging 29 points, 6.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. She shot an amazing 60 percent (15 of 25) from behind the three-point line and 52.8 percent from the field.
Nord tied a school and Conference USA record with eight three-pointers against UAB on Friday evening. She finished the game with 28 points, six assists and five rebounds. On Sunday she finished with 30 points, just one shy of her career-high 31 points. Nord also dished out seven assists and only two turnovers and pulled down five rebounds.
Nord shares the honor with Houston forward Chandi Jones. Jones tied a career-high with 39 points in the Cougars 83-78 triple overtime win against Tulane.
