Louisville Head Coach Collen
Was there any let down tonight?
"The one area they surprised us was the way they shot from the three-point line. Part of it was my fault in the way we chose to defend them. We knew they (Detroit) were vulnerable in the post. I think when we got it in the post and put it up we scored, but when we didn't they were able to bring a double team."
On Missy Taylor's play
"She can score any time she gets the ball in the post. She is a good post player as well as an outside shooter. Tonight was the most solid game I've seen her play. She scored inside and out, which was great for us."
"She's gotten a little smarter and a little stronger, but she missed out on the competition, that's why she is tentative a little bit at times. She is going to get better and better as time goes on."
Detroit Head Coach Mickey Barrett
On team's goal playing Louisville
"Our team is a team that is learning. We set a schedule that was so difficult for a young team, and we made it difficult to win games. We are looking for improvement because our goal is to really content for the Horizon League Championship. I thought today, playing a very good Louisville team, that we took some very big strides to going were we wanted to go."
On playing against the Louisville talent
"When you play against players like Jazz Covington and Missy Taylor it is very difficult to defend them*. You can take one of them away, but you can never take both of them away. Also Angel Bradley can drive through anything, and I even thought Huggins really held her own it the game. Our goal was to take them out of penetration, and I thought that we accomplished that. What we could not get done was playing the big people, and that has always been a problem for us this year, and it will continue to be. We will continue to work on things."
