
Swimming and Diving Sweep Eastern Illinois in Season Opener

The University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving team swept Eastern Illinois University in the season opener in Charleston, Ill. Friday.
The U of L men won 125-100 with the women topping the Panthers 145-95.
For the men, the Cardinals won all but one race. Matt Lees had a win in the 50- and 100-free with newcomer Charlton Lawson adding wins in 1000- and 500-free. Chris Lindauer took the 200-breast and the 200-IM. Freshmen Adam Madarassay and Chris Pinkston won the 200-fly and 200-back respectively.
For the women, the Cardinals won every event. Heather Meng won the 200-IM the 200-fly and was part of the winning 200-Medley Relay team. Diver Marianne Bradley swept both diving events. Lauren Bullock won the 500-free and the 1000-free to add another two wins to the tally. Emily Rabe took the 50-free with Kate Wilson powering to a win in the 100-free.
