
Women's Basketball Defeats IPFW 81-70

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball defeated IPFW 81-70 Sunday afternoon in Freedom Hall. Senior point guard Sara Nord led the Cardinals with 16 points. Five Cardinals scored in double-figures, Kim Graham added 14 points, Jazz Covington had 11 points and Nina Simotes and Katie Olson each added 10 points apiece.
The Cardinals built their lead in the first half and held the Mastodons to 29.6 percent shooting in the half and forced them to go 0-9 from the three-point line. The Cards finished the first half with a 41-23 lead.
The Mastodons found its shooting touch in the second half and cut the Cardinal lead to five with 11:33 remaining in the game. The Cards then went on a 7-2 run to go up 63-53 with just over eight minutes remaining. Graham scored eight of her 14 points in the final seven minutes of play to keep IPFW at bay.
Louisville finished the game shooting 36.7 percent from the field and just 27.3 percent from the three-point line. The Mastodons outrebounded the Cardinals 44-42.
The Cardinals will be back in action as they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. to take on the Lady Mocs on Nov. 25 at 7:00 p.m.
