Heather Meng set a pool record in the 200-IM but it was not enough as the University of Louisville swimming and diving teams fell to Xavier.
The women's meet came down to the last relay before the outcome was decided in a hard-fought matchup between the Muskateers and Cardinals.
"We travelled with a limited squad and the women who swam gave a valiant effort to take it down to the last relay. They really stepped up," said assistant coach Jonathan Haggerty, enroute to the second meet of the day for the Cardinals at conference foe Cincinnati.
(Full meet results will be posted as they become available.)
