
Nord and Sober Earn All-Conference USA Honors

Chicago, Ill. - The University of Louisville's sophomore point guard Sara Nord earned first team All-Conference USA honors for the second consecutive season. Nord becomes one of only two Louisville players to be named first team all-conference as a freshman and sophomore. Nord follows Gwen Doyle who earned first team All-Metro Conference honors from 1991-92.
Nord led the league in assists and the nation nearly also season and currently ranks second with 8.1 assists per game. The sophomore ranks third on the team in scoring with 10.1 point per game. She also was named a finalist for the Conseco Nancy Lieberman Step Up Award for the top point guard in the nation. Nord was one of three sophomores on the first team, joining Player of the Year Chandi Jones, and Cincinnati's Valerie King. DePaul senior Lenae Williams and TCU senior Kati Safaritova rounded out the first team.
Senior sharp shooter Marju Sober earned third team All-Conference USA honors. Sober led the team in scoring with 12.5 points per game and leads the team in three-point field goal percentage at 39.5 percent.
TCU's Jeff Mittie was named Conference USA Coach of the Year after guiding the Lady Frogs to their first Conference USA regular season title.
The Cardinals will kick off tournament play tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. EST against Southern Miss in the second game. Louisville finished the regular season tied for fourth place in the league with DePaul and Tulane.
