Hi everyone! I have to apologize for being so late with this journal entry. But it is getting down to the wire right now and keeping me busy. I had to celebrate my birthday last week. So I will pick up where I left off.
We were on our way to Chicago when one of my teammates, Amanda Wolke, stuffed her shirt with two balloons. It really almost looked real. When we were standing in line at the terminal you could hear people around us talking about it. Then a guy that works at the airport was staring at her and tripped and fell. Most of us saw it and started to laugh. He got embarrassed and ran into the bathroom. Then she finally got tired and pulled them out. And then you heard people around us say.... "I told you so".
We played really well against DePaul and really we should have won. But I can't really say what I want to say. It was a very tough loss to take. It was so tough, that I promised my SID, Kim Pemberton at dinner that we would win the next two.....just put it this way, I won't make any more promises.
We played well again against Marquette. And I did come through on my promise. We are actually playing good basketball right now.
Then we traveled to Cincinnati this weekend to end the regular season. On Saturday night Coach Clapp surprised us by taking us bowling. So I was pumped, you know how I like to bowl. So I put together my team.....actually I thought that I had stacked it. But little did I know that Kim Graham couldn't throw the ball down the lane without herself with it. She even had a two pound ball and it was too heavy.
But I hate to admit it the staff team won. They beat us 441-423 in the first game and 469-458 in the second game. And the staff team was Coach Clapp, Coach Terry, Coach White and Kim Pemberton.
Then the next day, we played Cincinati. They played really well against us and we more or less lost the game I the first five minutes of the second half.
We really need to make a run in the tournament....we are very capable of it. So if we can win it, we could got the NCAA Tournament.
I hope all of you surprise us and show up at the tournament to support us!!! You all have been great and we need your support. Go Cards!!!!!!
