Seattle, Wa. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team lost another close match in the Great Northwest Shootout at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center on Saturday against No. 24 ranked Indiana State University 4-3.

The Cardinals began the match on Friday losing the doubles point 1-0. At the No. 1 position, Cody Conley and Octavian Nicodim were defeated by the Sycamores' tandem of Stefan Hirn and David O'Connell 8-6. Indiana State's Lovre Brajkovic and Verdan Vidovic won the doubles point when they beat UofL's Alex Sivertsen and Paulo Carvalho 8-4 . At the No.3 spot Matt Mayer and Brent McCombe topped the Sycamores' duo of Henry Choi and Dalibor Mihajlovic 8-2.

In single's action late Saturday night, the Cardinals' Conley beat No. 58 ranked Hirn in two sets 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 1 postition. At the No. 2 spot, Sivertsen lost to Indiana State's No. 55 ranked Vidovic 6-2, 6-3 while the Cards' Carvalho defeated Brajkovic 7-5, 6-3, in the No. 3 position.

Nicodim won Louisville's third point when he handed Choi a loss 6-2, 7-6 (1). At the No. 5 spot the Sycamores' O'Connell topped the Cards' McCombe 7-6, 6-3 while U of L's Sebastian Aspillaga fell 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 to Dalibor Mihajlovic at the No. 6 position.

Louisville (3-8) will host the Conference USA Weekend tournament on February 22-23 in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
