Swimmers Fall to Ohio State

MORGANTOWN, W.V. -- Facing steep competition, the University of Louisville's swim teams fell to Ohio State and West Virginia in a three-way dual meet in Morgantown.
The men fell 175-55 to Ohio State and 172-62 to West Virginia. The women lost 149-85 to Ohio State and 158-74 to West Virginia.
The Cardinals received a scoring boost from their divers. Once again Sean Wilkinson swept both the 1- and 3-meter boards. With a score of 249.85, he beat the next competitor by 44 points. Transfer Jerilyn Drummond edged WVU's Kristen Moffatt by one point, winning with a score of 240.90. In 3-meter diving, Drummond won handily with a score of 316.45 with teammates Katie Collins and Allyson Mader finishing second and third.
Freshman swimmer Lauren Bullock had a third in the 1000-free and 200-free and fourth in the 500-free. Angie Nicolletta swam to a third place finish in the 200-fly with Stephanie Basler finished fourth in the 200-back.
For the men, Nils Lofgren finished sixth in the 200-fly. Jacob Greib was fifth in the 100-free with Joseph Mittel finishing fifth in the 200-back.
