Welcome back, it's been a good week for the Cardinals! Friday night was our best game of the season. We beat Cincinnati, one of our biggest rivals. They came into Freedom Hall undefeated and ranked in the polls. But for the first time all season we had fun on the court.
Everybody came together and gelled. The bench came in and really played some great defense. Everybody played well and it was a great feeling to get back, like last season. Bree came in and gave me a rest but played some great defense. Kim Graham also played good defense against Valerie King and hit some big free throws for us.
The night before the game Kim Graham and I cooked dinner for some teammates and one of the managers. We cooked for Kisha, Carol, Kristin our manager and my twin sister Shannon. We made hamburgers and French fries!!!! It was the first time we used the George Foreman grill and we had lots of compliments, so it was pretty good. We might have to start doing that before every home game if we play that well.
It will be nice to get back on the road again. We have been home now for four straight games and have gotten that winning feeling back!!! I just hope we can keep it. But Vanderbilt will be a tall order to fill. I believe they are ranked fifth in the nation right now and playing in their gym is very difficult. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off on Friday night and play a good game.
Speaking of Friday, I just wanted to thank all the fans that came out and supported us in our win against the Bearcats!!! You all were very loud and we appreciate it because it really helps to know you all are behind us.
Also as I finish, I just want to wish my best wishes to Deanna Jackson at UAB. She just recently broke her leg and will be out for several weeks. I hope you get better soon, I know it's not any fun to be hurt or having to sit out.
Well, that's about it for this week. Hope to see all of you in Freedom Hall on Friday and Sunday against Charlotte and East Carolina. Go Cards!!!
