Nord Earns National Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville freshman point guard Sara Nord was named to the Women's Basketball News Service first team All-Freshman team. Nord joins co-freshman of the year candidates Alana Beard of Duke and Kelly Mazzante of Penn State on the team. Also on the first team is Kansas State's Nicole Ohlde and Arkansas' Shameka Christon.

Nord was also named to the fourth team All-American squad. She led the team in assists, ranking fifth in the nation with 7.8 per game. Nord is also second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.0 per game.

Nord is one of three freshmen on the Women's Basketball New Service All-American teams.
