LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- West Virginia University swept the swim meet, beating the University of Louisville men 117-101 and downing the women 113-98.

"We feel like both teams are swimming better and we are very optimistic about how they are progressing," said U of L head coach Rick Hill.

The women started the meet off with a bang in the 1000-free with Stephanie Basler and Catherine Dievendorf finishing first and second. Angela Nicolletta notching two firsts, winning both the 200-free and the 200-fly. Stephanie Tucker and Brooke Morgan went one and two in the 400 IM despite the fact that Tucker, Dievendorf and Lauren Seymour were battling the flu. Diver Katie Collins swept both diving events beating the competition by 20 points in the first round.

On the men's side, diver Sean Wilkinson continues to be a major point producer for the aquatic Cardinals. He dominated the first round, beating teammate Richard Marschner by almost 40 points and the WVU diver, Brian Donahue by 50. in the second round, the New Zealander beat Marschner by 70 and doubled up on Donahue, 300.08 to 147.53.

The men had a strong showing in the 200- Medley Relay, with Ryan Eatherly, James Winchester, Nils Lofgren and Jacob Grieb finishing just 44 one-hundreths of a second behind the Mountaineers.
