Louisville, Ky. - Sabrina Minter, a 5-6 guard, will join the Louisville women's basketball team after transferring from Auburn announced head coach Martin Clapp. Minter will be eligible to play for the Cardinals after she completes a year of residency, which will make her eligible following the 2001 fall semester.
Minter joins Louisville after spending two seasons with the Auburn Tigers. Her freshman season, Minter played in all 29 games and started in seven. She ranked as the sixth leading scorer for the Tigers, averaging 6.1 points per contest. She scored a career-high 20 points against Florida in her freshman year. As a sophomore, Minter played in 16 games for the Tigers.
Minter, a Chicago native, was named a Reebok/WBCA All-American her senior year in high school. She was a four-time all-state selection and was named to the Chicago Sun Times All-Area team for four straight seasons.
"Sabrina is a combo guard that has started at both positions at Auburn," said head coach Martin Clapp. "She can shoot the three and put the ball on the floor. She is an excellent defender and very basketball smart."
