Evansville Sweeps Cardinal Swimmers

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville men's and women's swimming teams each captured eight events to defeat Louisville in a dual meet Saturday evening in Evansville, Ind. The Cardinal men fell 124-103, while the women lost 132-109.
The men's team was led by Tom Manchack, who picked up wins in the one and three meter diving competitions. Nils Lofgren (200 Fly), Patrick McGonigal (1000 Free) and Doug Klemen (200 Breast) also captured first-place finishes for U of L.
Whitney Pegler was a double-winner for the women, winning both the diving competitions. Ronna Tackett (200 Breast) and Catherine Dievendorf (500 Free) also recorded first-place finishes, while the 400 Free Relay team of Angela Hong, Sara Mayne, Stephanie George and Duygu Senkal won its race.
The Cardinal men return to action against Georgia Tech on Feb. 5 at Crawford Pool.
