Cardinals Sweep Swim Meet With Butler

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women and men's swim teams swept Butler University Saturday at Crawford Pool.
The men improved their record to 7-4 with a 124-66 win over the Bulldogs, while the women moved to 8-4 with the 103-95 win.
"We continue to improve as we get closer and closer to our Southern States Independent Championships," said head coach Rick Hill.
The men were led by freshman Joseph Mittel, who had a pair of wins in the 500-free and in the 400-Medley Relay. Brian Lucius also had a pair of wins, coming in the 100-Free and 400-Medley Relay team. Other race winners were: Matt Bentley in the 200-IM,k Patrick McGonigal in the 1650-Free, Jacob Grieb in the 50-Free and Sevket Yapar in the 200-Fly.
The women were led by Catherine Dievendorf's three wins. She won the 200-Fly and was a part of the winning 400-Medley Relay and 400-Free Relay teams. Sara Mayne won the grueling 1650 with Stephanie Basler picking up a win in the 200-Back. Angela Hong grabbed first in the 200-IM.
