Harold Andrews was a four-year letterwinner on the Louisville basketball team from 1956-59. His freshman year, he scored 352 points, averaging 20.8 points per game as part of the "terrific trio" of freshmen that year. Andrews made the starting lineup after UofL lost two of its first five games against Notre Dame. After that, the Cardinals went on a nine-game winning streak with Andrews in the lineup.
He was second on the team in scoring his junior year with 14.8 points per game. He helped lead the Cardinals his senior year as co-captain with fellow Hall of Fame inductee Don Goldstein to the 1959 NCAA Final Four.
In high school, Andrews played with two of his nephews and one of them, Harley Andrews, came to play alongside him at UofL.
