(On what it feels like to be a coach on the winning end of a big game)
Â
"Well, we start off and it's back to back threes by Notre Dame. So, it wasn't one where I'm like, 'hey, this is a piece of cake.' We had some breakdowns right off the bat, we gave Mabrey a three and then Westbeld hits a three. But offensively, we have been working on our tempo, working on our passing. I thought offensively, we were as good as we've been all year, and not for the fact that we scored 100, but we passed the ball well. We got the ball to people when they were open at the right time. We've had a problem throughout some games where we'll hold it for an extra second, and then all of the sudden when you pass it, now it's a contested shot. Where tonight we were getting the ball out of our hands. We were getting it to your teammate when they were open for us to shoot. I've watched Asia do it in practice, I've watched Myisha do it in practice, that 15-foot reverse pivot at the elbow is like a layup for some people, that's how consistent she shoots it, that's how good she feels about it. Then a shooter like Asia, we were fortunate. We got her some looks early and she knocked them down, and then all of a sudden that basket becomes really big. That fade away three there at the end of the third was off a set play, we ran it. I thought they defended it pretty well, but when you're 7 of 9 before she took that one, that basket doesn't seem that hard to make when you've got that flow going. That's one thing that I'll say for Asia, that she's really been focused in and dialed in and has really been playing well."
Â
(In your time here you've had some big games and some big crowds, but most of those times you haven't won the games. Is this the first time you feel everything came together, winning a big game in a big atmosphere?)
Â
"You know, I just told Kara (Lawson) and Rebecca (Lobo) that we've done a great job getting some great crowds in here, some of them have been against UConn. When they had won 127 in a row. We came out and competed, but unfortunately we weren't able to get one of those wins. That's why I was so excited about this ball game. I was so excited because we've been out there working hard on promoting and trying to get ticket sales. I just want to thank everyone, all 12,000 that came out tonight. I went to dinner last night and met a couple and the wife said 'I'm trying to talk my husband into coming to the game' and I said I have two tickets. If you come they're on me. And I'm hoping they came tonight. If you don't want to come back after that, I don't know what to tell you. So I'm hoping we had a lot of first time people possibly that came. And, that's some pretty darn good basketball. It's entertaining, and the kids play so hard. It's not that we have to score 100, but they play hard. They're diving on the floor after loose balls, they're picking each other up, the excitement is there. Our loyal ones that have been out here, our fans are very smart basketball fans. They're very knowledgeable. They know when to cheer. They don't cheer all the time. But, if we're struggling on offense or need a stop, they'll start to get loud. And that's what was so impressive about it. We have a basketball city, there's no question about it. And we have knowledgeable basketball fans, which make our games so exciting.

Asia Durr and Myisha Hines-Allen Postgame Comments
Â
(Myisha did you all see that one coming?)
Â
"Kind of, yeah, because our coaches prepared us and if we stuck with the game plan and trust, I mean we're able to compete with any team in the country, so I did expect that."
Â
(What did that first quarter feel like?)
Â
"Excitement. It was so exciting to be out there and to play and we just have to carry that onto our next game. We're capable of doing it, we just have to keep with our game plans."
Â
(Asia, was that was good of an atmosphere that you've seen?)
Â
"That's the best I've ever played in front of. My freshman year I was going back and thinking, my freshman year we had a pretty good crowd, but this crowd? Unbelievable. I've never played in front of a crowd like that. They were just so loud, they got us hyped. It was so much fun to play in front of them."
Â
(Asia when you hit the three at the end of the quarter, was that as loud, could you hear what you were thinking?)
Â
"No, I was just so excited, the first thing I did was run over to my teammates. We work so hard each and every day, so to see that pay off, I mean it's a great feeling. I'm just so thankful."
Â
(Myisha, was there a moment in the game where you felt like they couldn't hang with you guys? Was there a particular moment that maybe stands out?)
Â
"I would have to say no, they're the number two team in the country for a reason, we knew they were going to give us their best punch and we just had to stick with it, but it's a game of runs, we knew that they were just going to keep fighting and keep playing hard, which they did."
Â
(Myisha, you guys obviously had a tremendous first-half, what did coach say to you at half-time to keep you up and come out, because your third quarter was just as good as your first half performance, it's often easy to be a little bit flat after such a great first half?)
Â
He was just keeping us level headed, like I said before, they're the number two team in the country for a reason and we came out ready to play, all four quarters. So it was just staying level headed, they're a great team, they're going to fight back, they're going to fight until the end and they did do that. So it was just stay calm, they're going to go on some runs, so just stick with the game plans and then go handle business."
Â
(Asia, describe that feeling out there when you're hitting just shot, after shot, after shot, throwing in the fall-away three. You've had it before too, I'm sure, so it's not new for you, but for us.)
Â
"I'm trying to find a great way to describe it. I was just excited coming into this game, I was excited, we were all excited, me and my teammates because we knew it was going to be a great game. They're a great team, well-coached, Coach Walz and the whole staff put together a great game plan for us and we tried to follow that, we did follow that, great things turned out. My teammates played hard, diving on the floor, picking each other up and the cheering, we were being coachable, I mean it was just a great thing to see."Â
Â
(Asia, you've had so many big moments with this team, but to do this tonight against the #2 team in the country, where does this kind of rank for you in terms of career performances?)
Â
"I give it all to my teammates, I do. You guys might think I'm lying, but I really do. They found me on the court, without them throwing me the ball, my shot does not go up, so they did a great job of finding me on the court, they knocked down some great shots when they were face guarding me."
Â
(Asia, how much fun are you having with this team right now?)
Â
"A lot of fun, a lot of fun. It does not stop here though, we got to keep on going, we can't get satisfied with this win, we got to keep on going, we're thankful for it and got to keep on going."Â
