
No. 13 Women’s Basketball Falls to No. 5 Baylor in Sweet 16

Asia Durr finished with a game-tying high 21 points.
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Asia Durr scored a game-tying high 21 points, Myisha Hines-Allen added 12 points and nine rebounds, but No. 13 Louisville fell 97-63 to fifth-ranked Baylor in the Oklahoma City Regional semifinal on Friday.
Durr, who had a slow start, connected on five 3-pointers in the game and set the school's single-season record for 3-pointers with 119. She extended her school-record streak for consecutive games with a 3-pointer to 39, when she knocked down her first trey in the second quarter.
Collectively, the Cardinals (29-8) had a slow start against No. 1 Baylor, scoring a season-low nine points in the first quarter.
The Cardinals made a run at the Bears (33-3) before heading into halftime. Louisville, which trailed by as many as 17 points in the second quarter, went on a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to 10. Durr hit a 3-pointer to start spurt, followed by one of two made free throws, Hines-Allen scored on a putback, and Durr capped the run with a 3-pointer.
Baylor responded with a 20-10 run to open the third period and preserve a lead it never relinquished.
Mariya Moore finished with 10 points and six rebounds, and Jazmine Jones contributed six points and seven boards.
Louisville capped the year with its fifth regional semifinal appearance in seven years and tied for the third-most victories in a season in school history.
