
No. 5/6 Women’s Basketball Set to Host Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge

Six games will be played at the KFC Yum! Center over the course of three days.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's basketball is set to host the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Challenge this weekend, playing three games in three days.
The event begins with a neutral site contest on Saturday – Lafayette against Chattanooga at 2 p.m. – before the fifth-ranked Cardinals take the court against Bowling Green at 4:30 p.m. Louisville's contest will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and available on WKRD 790 AM, with Nick Curran (play-by-play) and Adrienne Johnson (analyst) calling the action.
The Cardinals (3-0) then face Lafayette on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and finish the local portion of the event on Monday against Chattanooga at 7:30 p.m. Both games also are available on ACC Network Extra.
Sunday's neutral game, between Chattanooga and Bowling Green, is scheduled for 2 p.m., and Monday's tilt that features Bowling Green and Lafayette starts at 5 p.m.
Louisville is coming off a 91-72 victory at Middle Tennessee on Wednesday. The Cardinals jumped out a 22-9 advantage through the first period and never trailed in the contest. Louisville finished with a 44-30 advantage on the glass, shot nearly 50 percent from the field, and forced 20 turnovers.
Mariya Moore scored a season-best 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting, also dishing out six assists, and Asia Durr added 22 points and three assists. Myisha Hines-Allen, who had 17 points in the contest, joined the school's 1,000-point club with her first basket in the first quarter.
On the season, Durr is pacing the team in scoring at 21.3 per contest. Moore 916.3) and Hines-Allen (11.0), who are both shooting better than 60 percent from the field, are second and third, respectively, in scoring. Hines-Allen also boasts a team-leading 8.3 rebounds per contest.
Collectively, the Cardinals are hitting 51.0 percent of their shots, limiting foes to 38.8 percent from the field, and boast a plus-11.7 turnover margin.
Louisville's first opponent, Bowling Green (0-2) is coming off a 68-58 loss at home to Cincinnati on Tuesday. The Falcons held an 18-9 advantage in the first period, but were outscored the rest of the game, including 24-9 in the final period.
Abby Siefker produced 14 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks, while Carly Santoro contributed 12 points in the loss.
Santoro is leading the team in scoring (16.0), while Siefker is averaging a double-double of 10.0 points and 12.0 rebounds. Sydney Lambert has a team-high eight assists through two contests.
Bowling Green is coming off a 10-18 season, going 6-12 in the Mid-American Conference. The team returns eight letterwinners from last season, including current probable starters Rachel Myers, Abby Siefker, and Carly Santoro.
The Falcons, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Jennifer Roos, were picked to finish fourth in the MAC's East Division, with Ohio selected to win the division.
