Johnson Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

Junior midfielder scored first two goals as a Cardinal last week
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Louisville junior midfielder Daniel Johnson was named Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Johnson, who shared Tuesday's honor with Duke's Jeremy Ebobisse, connected for his first two goals as a Cardinal last week scoring once in Tuesday's win over No. 15 Kentucky and again in Friday night's draw at Syracuse. A native of Duluth, Georgia, Johnson scored in the 28th minute of Louisville's 2-0 home triumph over the rival Wildcats. Three nights later, the Maryland transfer delivered his second tally of the week connecting on the game-tying goal at Syracuse inside the final 65 seconds of the first half of the Cardinals' ACC opener.
Tuesday marked the first ACC weekly honor for the Cardinals this season. No. 10 Louisville returns to action on Tuesday at 7 p.m., ET at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium against Saint Louis.
