
Men's Tennis Falls to No. 4 Virginia 6-1

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell to No. 4 Virginia 6-1 in an ACC matchup Sunday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center. Louisville drops to 23-6 on the season and 7-4 in ACC play.
The Cavaliers (18-3, 10-0) took an early lead with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Van Damrongsri and Albert Wagner fell 8-3 to the 55th-ranked duo of Thai-Son Kwiatkowski and Mac Styslinger at the two-spot. Chris Simich and Sebastian Stiefelmeyer lost an 8-4 decision to Mitchell Frank
In singles, the Cavaliers added to the lead with on court five where J.C. Aragone defeated Damrongsri 6-0, 6-2 . Kwiatkowski, No. 14 in the ITA singles rankings beat Simich 6-3, 6-3. Third-ranked Ryan Shane picked up a 6-3, 6-4 over Gornet at No. 3 to clinch the match. Henrik Wiersholm defeated Luis Elizondo 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6. Wagner, ranked No. 104 in the nation lost a 6-2, 6-4 decision to No. 22 Mitchell Frank to make the score 6-0.
At the top seed, eighth-ranked Stiefelmeyer rallied after a 6-3 first-set loss to defeat No. 72 Collin Altamirano 6-3, 10-5 to claim the Cardinals' lone point in the match.
