
Swimming and Diving Continue to Post NCAA Cuts at Invitational

The University of Louisville swimming and diving team had 13 more NCAA B-cut times in the second session of the Louisville Invitational First Chance Meet Saturday at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.
"It has been a great day for racing with a number of lifetime bests," said Arthur Albiero, UofL head coach. "I think it speaks volumes tow the preparation we put together this year for the kids that were focusing on this meet and the way they performed is a huge assurance that we are on the right track. It keeps everyone focused for the big meets ahead."
In the men's 200-free relay, Estefan Albiero (20.63), Todd Owen (20.71), Josh Quallen (19.66) with an anchor by Caryle Blondell of 19.98 combined for a 1:20.98.
In the 200-IM, Jonathan Zoucha boarded a B-cut time of 1:46.92 as did Ryan Massey, who went 1:48.47.
In the men's 500-free, Jake Schultz went 4:25.69 and Bryan Draganosky went 4:26.75.
In the women's 100-breaststroke, Emily Sarratt had a 1:04.76. In the men's 100 breaststroke there were six NCAA B-cuts led by Carlos Claverie's 52.88. Thomas Dahlia went 53.19, Addison Bray (54.37), Brennen Berger (54.75), Dexter Thomas (55.31) and Todd Owen (55.31) all had B-cuts.
The women's 200-back showed Mackenzie Buss boarding a 2:26.26. In the men's event, Aaron Greene posted a 1:42.22 followed by Nick Hasemann's 1:44.10, which were both B-cut times. Cardinal alum Pedro Oliveira went 1:46.19.
In the 100-free, Rachel Grooms went 50.62 followed by Ashley LeClair's 50.90. Abigail Houck boarded a 51.27. For the men, Caryle Blondell had an NCAA B-cut time of 43.78 as did Rudy Edelen, who went 44.23. In the 1-meter diving, Emily Stalmack had a 289.0, followed by Mady Ingmire's 262.30 and Andrea Acquista 262.06, Alexandra Murphy's 246.80. For the men, Sean Piner scored a 348.25 and Ryan Bohn had a 255.99.
In the women's 200-butterfly, Devon Bibault had a B-cut time of 1:57.34. Marah Pugh went 2:01.71. For the men, Joe Brown went 1:47.81 for a B-cut and alum Pedro Oliveira went 1:48.29.
The meet continues at 10 a.m. Sunday morning with the finals scheduled for 5 at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.
