Track and Field Completes Day One at Meyo Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Chris Wolfe and Kim Grieshaber led the University of Louisville men's and women's track and field teams on Friday, the first day of competition, at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., at the Loftus Sports Center.
Wolfe, just one of four Cardinal men competing on day one, placed fourth in the men's 1,000m run, completing it in 2:26.70. Michael Eaton was Louisville's top-finisher in the 5,000m run, as he took 11th in his season debut, with a time of 14:34.20. Freshman Tyler Byrne finished two spots behind Eaton, taking 13th, with a time of 14:36.45.
On the women's side, Grieshaber completed the 5,000m run in 16:56.04 to place fifth in the event. Monica Hernandez also completed the race, registering a 14th-place finish.
The second and final day of competition resumes on Saturday, Feb. 5. The Cardinals open the day, with the women's 3,000m run at 10:30 a.m.
