
Volleyball Sweeps Jacksonville

Svetlana Dukule had nine kills and five blocks to lead the No. 12-ranked University of Louisville to a 30-18, 30-21, 30-16 win over the University of Jacksonville in Cardinal Arena.
"We hit much better and did not have the unforced errors that we had last evening," said U of L head coach Leonid Yelin.
The Cardinals hit .270, outblocked JU 11-3 and aced JU seven times. Setter Samantha Dabbs was successful with the tip, recording eight kills on 11 attacks with 24 assists. Tatyana Kolesnikova came off the bench and had six kills and two blocks to help the Cards' effort.
U of L used a 13-2 run to roll over the Dolphins in game one. The Cardinals were led by Justine Landi's four kills as U of L outhit its opponent .333 to .000. Jax stayed close in the second game, never letting U of L any further ahead than five points. Leading 18-13, U of L went on a 12-7 run down the stretch to put the game away. Neither team hit well with U of L getting the slight edge with a .191 percentage to JU's .022. Dukule had five kills in that set to lead the Cardinals. In the final game, U of L took charge at the 18-13 mark and ran off 12 points to JU's three to take the match.
U of L returns to action this evening at 7:30 against UMKC in Cardinal Arena.
