Hughes Finishes Runner-up in Pole Vault at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Junior Jacey Hughes finished runner-up in the pole vault to lead the University of Louisville women's track and field team at the Butler Twilight Saturday night in Indianapolis.
Hughes cleared 11-0.25 for the second-place finish, her fourth top-two finish of the spring. Junior Anita Winters-Dixon finished eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.06 seconds, the ninth fastest in school history. Freshman Kelly Ennis was 12th in 58.69.
In the 100-meter hurdles, senior Kelly Faber finished fourth in 14.95 and freshman Aajah Showell was eighth (15.31).
Senior Mindy Helman tied for sixth in the high jump after clearing 5-3.75.
Junior Shareka Nance had a pair of top-10 finishes on the evening. Nance placed seventh in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 17-0.75 and eighth in the triple jump (33-7.50).
Junior Michele Burke was seventh in the triple jump (33-11.50) and Showell placed eighth in the long jump (16-8.75).
