
Faber Finishes Runner-up in Heptathlon at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - University of Louisville senior Kelly Faber finished runner-up in the heptathlon with 4,958 points at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
Faber's point total was the second most in school history and was just 28 points shy of the school record and only 42 points from the NCAA Provisional qualifying mark.
Of the seven events, Faber set personal records in three of them, including the 200-meter dash (25.77), long jump (18-5.75) and 800-meter run (2:24.06). Her time of 14.40 in the 100-meter hurdles was the second fastest in school history.
Senior Mindy Helman and junior Kelley Bowman will compete in the high jump at the event on Saturday, while senior Amanda Bell will run in the mile at the Penn Relays Saturday.
