Faber Places Ninth in Heptathlon at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - University of Louisville senior Kelly Faber placed ninth in the heptathlon Thursday at the 77th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Faber finished with 4,754 points, the third highest total in school history, in the two-day competition. She opened the competition with a school-record time of 14.53 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. Faber also recorded a personal-record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.54.
Ryanne Dupree of Texas-San Antonio won the competition with 5,383 points. The top six athletes all recorded NCAA Provisional marks in the event.
Cardinal juniors Kelley Bowman and Ify Akubeze will compete in the high jump and triple jump, respectively, at the Texas Relays this weekend, while the rest of the Cardinals will be at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa.
