
Women's Soccer 'Crafts' 1-0 Win

DAYTON, OHIO - Freshman Jamie Craft scored her fourth goal of the season in the 42nd minute, lifting the University of Louisville women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Wright State on Sunday.
"I think that it is tremendous that we have been able to go on the road and secure a pair of wins as we get ready for conference play," remarked Head Coach Karen Ferguson.
At the 41:05 mark, Craft, who had two goals in the Cards' 5-1 win over Youngstown State Friday, took a feed from fellow freshman Liz Kinny, beat two defenders and tucked the ball inside the far left post for the only goal of the match.
Junior goalkeeper Meredith Miller made four saves to give her 5.5 shutouts in her career, placing her fifth in Cardinal history. She and the defense have notched 2.5 shutouts this season.
Louisville held a 12-9 advantage in shots over the Raiders(2-4-0). Kinny, who is second behind Craft in scoring for U of L paced the team with seven shots.
The Cards' 3-1-1 record is the third best start through five games in the history of the program, and the team has now won three straight.
Louisville will host Memphis on Friday at Cardinal Park for the Conference USA opener at 7:00 p.m.. Admission is free.
