
Women Finish Fourth at Commodore Cross Country Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Louisville women's cross country team finished fourth overall at the Commodore Classic Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.
Host Vanderbilt won the 17-team event with 27 points, followed by Belmont (49) and Southeast Missouri (88). The Cardinals finished with 121 points. Belmont's Christy Csorna won the 5K race in 18 minutes, 52.48 seconds.
Senior Amanda Bell led the Cardinals with a ninth-place time of 19:28.14. The finish marked the second straight meet Bell has placed among the top 10.
Senior Marea Ingwersen was 20th in 20:10.65, while junior Corryn McCrae (30th), freshman Holly Geers (35th) and senior Emily Daunhauer (40th) were the other Cardinal scorers.
The Cardinals return to action September 27 when they will compete in the Greater Louisville Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. The event is hosted by the Greater Louisville Sports Commission.
