
Louisville Men Finish Third at Cardinal Cross Country Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Freshman Wes Seacat finished 14th overall to lead the University of Louisville men's cross country team to a third-place showing at the Cardinal Classic Saturday morning at the U of L Shelby Campus.
Louisville finished with 105 points in the 18-team event. Tennessee won the competition with 32 points, while Eastern Kentucky was second with 80 points.
Tennessee's Tim Kelly was the top collegiate finisher with an 8K time of 25 minutes 6.66 seconds.
Seacat ran a season-best 8K time of 25:37.69 to lead the Cardinals for the third consecutive meet. The New Albany, Ind., native was 14th overall, but ranked eighth among collegiate finishers.
Junior Curtis Persinger had a season-best time of 26:03.29 to finish 24th, while sophomore Tim Kaiser was 32nd with a time of 26:13.34. Rounding out the Cardinal scorers were sophomore Kyle Bowling (35th) and redshirt freshman Chris Davis (44th).
The Cardinals return to action Saturday when they travel to Carbondale, Ill., for the Saluki Invitational.
