Mobile, Ala. - Junior Charlie Woo posted a 10th place finish Tuesday as the University of Louisville men's golf team concluded its fall season with a seventh-place finish at the South Alabama Fall Beach Classic.
In a very competitive team competition, South Florida carded an 836 to hold off a late rally by second-place Jacksonville State (837). With the three-round total, USF set a new tournament record breaking the old mark of 844 set by Arkansas State in 2001. The Cardinals shot an 851 to finish 15 shots off the lead.
Woo, who entered the final round in seventh place, carded a 71 to finish in a three-way tie for 10th.
Freshman Michael Giammaresi tied for 22nd place by shooting 74-69-70=213. He fired a -3under par 69 in the second round and was -2 under par in the final day.
Sophomore Troy Hawkins shot 72-72-71=215 to place in a tie for 34th and freshman Mark Conlon carded a 73-73-70=216 to tie for 39th.
Junior Brett Jones rounded out the Cardinals' top five by shooting 72-73-73=218.
