
Cards Win Battle of the Bluegrass 86-62

Louisville, Ky. - Junior point guard Sara Nord registered her third career triple-double with 16 points 10 assists and 11 rebounds as she helped guide the Cardinals to 86-62 win over Kentucky (7-5). The Cardinals improve to 8-4 on the season and have now won five in a row.
Four other Cardinals scored in double figures with freshman Connie Neal leading the way with a career-high 17 points. Amanda Wolke had 16 points and Kim Graham had 11 points and Lori Nero added 10 points.
The first half started with six ties and five lead changes before Graham connected on a three-pointer at the 9:47 mark to spark a 20-0 Cardinal run. Louisville connected on 7 of 13 from the three-point line in the first half. The Cardinals finished the first half with a 55-28 lead.
Louisville came out sluggish in the second half. UK went on a 7-2 run in the first three minutes. Nord nailed a three and Wolke scored a layup to jump start the Cards. A Neal jumper with 12:28 remaining put the Cards up 70-37, marking their biggest lead of the game.
The Cardinals finished the game shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 47.3 percent from the three-point line. Louisville outrebounded Kentucky 49-32.
The Cardinals will be back in action Jan. 7 against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall.
