
Cards Fall on the Road to UAB

Birmingham, Ala. - UAB hit 9 of 12 free throws in the final three minutes to defeat the Cardinals 75-62 Friday evening in Bartow Arena. UAB's Natasha Thomas led all scorers with 24 points and Sara Nord led the Cards with 16 points.
Louisville led 58-57 with just over six minutes remaining when UAB went on a 17-0 run in a six minute stretch. The Cards went from shooting 57.1 percent in the first half to shooting just 33.3 percent in the second. The Cards did not make a three and went 2 for 7 from the line in the second half.
Louisville led 40-38 at the break and held a 16-15 rebounding edge. UAB outrebounded the Cards 43-35 for the game.
Along with Nord, Amanda Wolke and Lori Nero had double-figures with 15 and 12 points respectively. Nord and Nero led the Cards on the boards with eight rebounds apiece.
