
Women Finish Ninth at Conference USA Cross Country Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Louisville women's cross country team finished ninth at the Conference USA Championship Saturday morning in Hattiesburg, Miss. The event, hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi, was held on the Van Hook Golf Course.
Marquette finished with 29 points to win its third consecutive title. South Florida was second with 48 points, followed by DePaul (103), Houston (136) and TCU (166). Louisville had 206 points to place ninth.
DePaul's Erin Moffett led from start to finish to win the 6,000-meter race with a time of 20:54.68.
Freshman Emily Leeper led the Cardinals with a time of 23:25.46 to place 35th. Junior Emily Daunhauer finished 40th in 23:33.75, while sophomore Heather Griffith was 43rd in 23:40.52.
Rounding out the top five finishers for Louisville were junior Beth Wendt (47th) and sophomore Corryn McCrae (49th). All five Cardinal scorers were within 23 seconds of each other.
