LOUISVILLE, KY - The Conference USA regular season champion Cincinnati Bearcats women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with an undefeated record after edging Louisville 1-0 on Friday night.
The Bearcats are 15-3-0(10-0-0) heading into the Conference USA tournament in Milwaukee November 7th as the first seed. The remaining seeds will be determined by action this weekend. Only the top eight teams in the conference qualify for the postseason.
Cincinnati's leading scorer Ann Thomas scored her eighth goal of the season in the first minute of the second half in the only tally of the match. Amy Simonson and Rachel Lieberman each picked up assists on the goal.
Louisville ends the season with a 4-13-0 mark overall and 2-8-0 in the conference. The four wins marks the highest total since the team won seven in '97.
Seniors Jerika Amos, Amber Jolley and Kristin Tapp all played in their final game for U of L and were honored during a pregame ceremony.
