Volleyball Tames Memphis Tigers 3-1

Louisville, KY -- Sonja Percan had 23 kills and 11 digs to lead the University of Louisville to a 3-1 win over the University of Memphis in Conference USA volleyball action.
The Cardinals improved to 8-2 in league play with the 31-29, 30-22, 25-30, 30-27 win and post a 13-3 record overall. Memphis falls to 5-4 in C-USA play and 15-4 overall.
"Road wins are key and with the new scoring systems we are seeing more and more upsets," said head coach Leonid Yelin.
The Cardinals used superior hitting and outblocked the Tigers 16 to 7. The Cards hit .336 for the match which included a blistering .607 in game two. The Tigers did uncork eight service aces.
Louisville had three players in double digit kills with Anastasia Zaitseva adding 17 kills and 17 digs for her eighth double-double of the year. Sophomore Benny Flynn had 10 kills and nine blocks.
