
Women Take Down Southern Miss 70-60

Hattiesburg, Miss. - University of Louisville women's basketball team defeated Southern Miss 70-60 today in Reed Green Coliseum. The Cardinals improve to 13-7 on the season and 8-1 in conference play.
Freshman sensation Sara Nord led the Cards with 17 points and nine assists. Marju Sober added 14 points and Kara Kessans and Tiana Ford each scored 10. Junior Janelle Antoine led the Cards on the boards with 10 rebounds.
Louisville shot 51.9 percent for the game, including 63.3 percent in the first half. The Cards outrebounded the Eagles 41-40.
The Eagles held Louisville scoreless for a seven minute stretch in the second half to cut the Cardinal lead to five with just over three minutes remaining. Louisville connected on six of eight free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Louisville used a 26-8 run in the final 10 minutes of the first half to go up 44-27 at the half.
Louisville will host Memphis on Friday, Feb. 2 at Freedom Hall at 7:00 p.m.
