Lachelle Manzano scored from point-blank range with 19 seconds remaining in the first overtime period Sunday afternoon to give UC Irvine a 1-0 victory over Louisville and the championship of the FILA Women's Soccer Classic at Cal State Fullerton.
Manzano converted a long pass from Janelle Doyle to end a frustrating match for the Anteaters (2-1) on an upbeat note. UCI outshot the Cardinals (1-3) by a 30-2 margin and had an 11-0 edge in cornerkicks.
In the second match of the day, Toledo beat host Cal State Fullerton, 3-1, despite being outshot by a 26-10 margin.
