Cards Fall 3-1 In Women's Soccer

The Louisville women's soccer team fell to Cal State Fullerton 3-1 Saturday night in the opening round of the FILA Women's Soccer Classic in Fullerton, California.
Danielle Turnquist snapped a scoreless tie at 64:15 of the Fullerton (2-1) match when she arched in a free kick from about 35 yards out. Monica Reade added a penalty kick six minutes later and Taryn Kupper scored on a rebound of a Turnquist shot to make it 3-0 with less than 15 minutes to play.
Amber Jolley scored at 85:25 to get the Cardinals (1-2) on the scoreboard.
U of L will meet University of California-Irvin, who blanked Toledo 3-0 at 11 a.m. Monday and Fullerton follows with a match against Toledo.
