Women's Soccer Loses 5-1 To Southern Miss

The Cardinals women's soccer team was defeated by Southern Miss 5-1 on Sunday afternoon at Cardinal Park.
Under rainy conditions the teams battled to a 1-1 stalemate after one half of play, but for the second straight game the Cards were put away in the second half.
The Golden Eagles(3-5-0, 1-3-0) Stacey Hall, Lindsay Canham and Tricia Wiles combined for three goals and five assists. Hall opened the scoring at 6:52, heading in a cross from Wiles. After U of L evened things, Canham cashed two goals on assists from Wiles in the first 15 minutes of the second half.
Louisville(1-9-0, 0-4-0) was outshot 16-6 and has now lost nine in a row.
"Just like Friday, I thought we controlled play in the first half, but we just lost our legs in the second half," said Head Coach Karen Ferguson.
Leila McReynolds and Laurie Beaury picked up the other two USM goals.
Louisville will be on the road as they visit Saint Louis Friday and Houston Sunday.
