DePaul used three first half goals to send Louisville to a 3-0 loss and an 0-2-0 start in Conference USA Sunday
The Blue Demons pressured the Cardinals in the first half and jumped to a 2-0 lead within the first 20 minutes. Senior Jeannette Croce scored the match's first goal in the 17th minute and was followed by Tammy Howe with a score at 19:52. The Blue Demons outshot Louisville 13-5 in the first half. Amber Jolley and Nicole Casavant each had three shots to lead the Cards.
Katie Hawkins tallied her first goal of the year and gave the Blue Demons the 3-0 lead in the 26th minute. Stephanie Cox got the ball to Croce and she fired a one-touch pass to Hawkins for the score.
DePaul is now 2-5 overall and 1-1 Conference USA play while Louisville dropped to 1-7 and 0-2 in league play. Up next for the Cardinals is Tulane, as they visit Cardinal Park Friday at 7:30.
