
Women's Basketball Falls 90-60 to Arizona

Tucson, Ariz. - University of Louisville women's basketball team fell 90-60 to Arizona in the McKale Center this evening. Freshman Sara Nord led the Cardinals with 19 points. The Wildcats were led by Veranda James with 16 points.
The Wildcats came out and took control of the second half after surviving a first half comeback from the Cards. Arizona built a 26 point lead with 12 minutes remaining and never looked back. The closet the Cards could get was 12 points in the first five minutes of the second half.
Louisville returned to their old form as the hit just 47.8 percent from the foul line. Arizona hit 53.4 percent from the field and 73.3 percent from the foul line.
The Cardinals were down by 26 with 5:51 remaining in the second half. The Cards dug their heels in and managed a 16-2 run in the final five minutes.
The run was sparked by some points in the post for the Cards. Shanta Bowens and Tiana Ford recorded six and four points respectively.
The points in the paint freed up Nord and Marju Sober as they knocked in three from long range.
